About the Author
Ashlee Fulmer grew up with her dad telling her bedtime stories about a giant, sweet gorilla who helped his animal friends resolve funny predicaments. After receiving a degree in biomedical engineering from Georgia Tech and then attending medical school at UAB, she decided to turn these stories into a series of children’s books. These days, when she’s not “doctoring on patients” (as her children say), she enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach, taking her two kids to the park, reading, and snuggling with Harvey dog. Ashlee and her family live in Birmingham, Alabama.
About the Illustrator
Alaina Luise is a prolific children's book illustrator based in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she lives with her wife and their dog. She has written and illustrated stories since she could hold a pencil, and loves bringing stories to life...especially ones about friendship, perseverance, and purple gorillas! When Alaina isn't drawing, coloring, illustrating, or writing, she's probably teaching her art students at her K-8 school. And if she's not doing that, she's probably taking a nap!
